Actress Sushmita Sen suffered a heart attack a few days ago and had to undergo angioplasty, the 47-year-old former Miss Universe revealed in an Instagram post on Thursday.

Sharing an update on her health alongside a picture of her with her father Subir Sen, Sushmita wrote that the doctors put a stent in her heart following the angioplasty.

“My cardiologist reconfirmed ‘I do have a big heart’ 😉😄❤️,” she wrote jokingly. The Aarya actress added that she has “lots of people to thank for their timely aid and constructive action”.

Recalling words of advice from her father, Sushmita wrote, “Keep your heart happy and courageous, and it’ll stand by you when you need it the most.”

She also thanked her well-wishers. “This post is just to keep you (my well wishers and loved ones) informed of the good news …that all is well and I am ready for some life again. I love you guys beyond!!!! #godisgreat #duggadugga,” the actress wrote.

Sushmita was last seen in the International Emmy-nominated series Aarya. She is a single mom to daughters Renee and Alisah.
