Gede and Mahadipur border has been opened today from March 2, 2023 for communication between India and Bangladesh after being closed for more than two and a half years due to the epidemic corona virus.
The Indian Assistant High Commissioner appointed in Rajshahi Manoj Kumar confirmed this information.
He said, considering the convenience of passenger movement, it has been decided to reopen Gede and Mahadipur border accordingly. All types of passengers will be able to travel through Gede and Mahadipur border from today subject to covid-19 vaccination and following hygiene rules.
a member of the Darshana Citizen Committee and a teacher leader Sarup das said that under the leadership of Golam Farooq Arif, the convener of the Darshana Citizen Committee, the Darshana-Gede border has been repeatedly lobbied.
Earlier, when Indian High Commissioner Manoj Kumar reached Darshana Gede border on December 22, the memorandum was given by the Citizens’ Committee to open the Gede border.
