A Bangladeshi imam has been arrested in New York over allegations of sexually abusing two children at a mosque in Jamaica, Queens.
Police said the incidents took place on Apr 21 and Apr 27 at Masjid Bilal. The accused, 65-year-old Tajul Islam, was later released on a $25,000 bond.
He faces multiple charges, including sexual abuse, forcible touching, and child endangerment. The court ordered him to stay away from the children involved. Police have asked anyone with similar complaints to come forward.
