Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has announced that 14,300 candidates recommended for the post of assistant teacher in government primary schools will soon receive appointments on a conditional basis.
The minister said the recruitment process for the 2025 intake, which had faced controversy and debate, is now being accelerated to ensure that the quality of primary education remains uninterrupted across the country.
Speaking to reporters at Kachua Government Pilot High School, Milon acknowledged concerns over the quick execution of the recruitment examinations.
He stated that the government carefully reviewed all aspects of the recruitment process before deciding to move forward in the greater interest of the education sector.
According to the minister, appointment letters will be issued shortly to eligible candidates, provided they fulfill the required conditions.
Addressing students during the visit, Milon also said the government is working to make the education system more modern, student-friendly, and engaging.
He added that several initiatives are being taken to increase school attendance and reduce dropout rates nationwide.
