পবিত্র রমজানের শুরুতে অর্ধেক মাস স্কুল খোলা রাখার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে মুসলমান বিশ্বের নেতৃত্বদানকারী দেশ সৌদি আরব। দেশটির শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয় ঘোষিত চলতি ২০২৬ খ্রিষ্টাব্দের রমজানকালীন স্কুলসূচি অনুযায়ী, সাপ্তাহিক ছুটি বাদ দিয়ে মোট ১১ দিন স্কুলে ক্লাস চলবে।
তবে রমজানের শুরুতে যে ১১ দিন স্কুল খোলা থাকবে, সে সময় স্বাভাবিক সময়ের তুলনায় স্কুলটাইম কম রাখা হবে। এই সময় শিক্ষা খাতের সব কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারীর দৈনিক কর্মঘণ্টা নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে পাঁচ ঘণ্টা।
প্রখর তাপপ্রবণ দেশ সৌদি আরবে সাধারণত—শীতকালে স্কুল শুরু হয় সকাল ৬টা ৪৫ মিনিটে,গ্রীষ্মকালে শুরু হয় সকাল ৭টা ১৫ মিনিটে।
কিন্তু রমজান মাসের প্রথমার্ধে এই ১১ দিন স্কুল শুরু হবে সকাল ৯টায়। এই সূচি ৫ মার্চ পর্যন্ত কার্যকর থাকবে।
সৌদি শিক্ষা মন্ত্রণালয়ের পূর্বাভাস অনুযায়ী, আগামী বুধবার (১৮ ফেব্রুয়ারি) অথবা তার পরদিন বৃহস্পতিবার পবিত্র রমজান শুরু হতে পারে। যদিও চাঁদ দেখার ওপর চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত নির্ভর করবে।
ঘোষিত সূচি অনুযায়ী—৫ মার্চ পর্যন্ত সীমিত সময়সূচিতে স্কুল চলবে,এরপর রমজান ও ঈদুল ফিতরের ছুটি শুরু হবে
এই ছুটি চলবে ২৮ মার্চ পর্যন্ত,ছুটি শেষে আবার গ্রীষ্মকালীন সময়সূচি অনুযায়ী নিয়মিত ক্লাস কার্যক্রম শুরু হবে।
সংশ্লিষ্টরা বলছেন, রোজা রেখে পড়াশোনা ও কাজের চাপ কমাতে সৌদি আরবের এই সিদ্ধান্ত শিক্ষার্থী ও শিক্ষকদের জন্য সহায়ক ও বাস্তবসম্মত। রমজানের পবিত্রতা বজায় রেখেই শিক্ষা কার্যক্রম চালু রাখার ক্ষেত্রে এটি একটি ভারসাম্যপূর্ণ উদ্যোগ বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে।

The Saudi Ministry of Education has revealed that the Saudi school schedule for Ramadan 2026, where the start timings have been pushed to later, with schools beginning at 9am, instead of the usual start time of 6.45am for winter, and 6.15am during summer.
The Saudi school schedule for Ramadan 2026 also mandates that students will attend school during Ramadan for only 11 days, starting Wednesday, February 18 or Thursday, February 19 and continuing until Thursday, March 5.
After that, the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr holiday will begin, which will extend until Saturday, March 28, following which studies will resume according to the usual summer school hours.
The daily working hours for all employees in the education sector have also been set at five hours.
What is the current Saudi school schedule?
Currently, educational institutions are still operating on a winter schedule, with the morning assembly beginning at 6.45am, followed by the first period at 7am. This schedule will continue until Tuesday, February 17.
The academic calendar clarified that the duration of student attendance during Ramadan is limited due to the holy month coinciding with several official holidays, most notably the Founding Day holiday, which coincides with the fifth of Ramadan. The Eid al-Fitr holiday begins after the end of working hours on Thursday, March 17.
Important dates of the Saudi school schedule 2026
The school year officially ends with the start of the summer vacation on Thursday, June 25, 2026. According to the approved academic calendar, the dates for the 2026–2027 school year have also been announced, with students returning to schools on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
