Bangladesh, Malaysia Sign 5 MoUs, 3 Exchange of Notes

Bangladesh and Malaysia have signed five Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and three Exchange of Notes in various fields of cooperation on the first day of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus’s three-day official visit to Malaysia on Tuesday (Aug 12).

The signing ceremony, held in Putrajaya, was witnessed by Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Exchange of Notes:

Higher Education Cooperation – Signed by Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan and Bangladesh Adviser for Expatriates’ Welfare & Overseas Employment Asif Nazrul.

Training for Diplomats – Signed by the Malaysian foreign minister and Bangladesh Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain.

Halal Ecosystem Cooperation – Signed by Malaysian Deputy Minister Dr. Zulkifli bin Hasan and BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud bin Harun.

MoUs:

Defence Cooperation – Signed by Malaysian Defence Minister Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin and Bangladesh Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain.

Energy Cooperation (LNG supply, infrastructure, petroleum products) – Signed by Malaysian Acting Economic Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah bin Azizan and Bangladesh Energy Adviser M Fouzul Kabir Khan.

Strategic Studies Collaboration – Between ISIS Malaysia and BIISS, signed by ISIS Malaysia Chairman Datuk Prof. Dr. Mohd Faiz Abdullah and Bangladesh High Commissioner Md. Shameem Ahsan.

Technology & Industry Collaboration – Between MIMOS Services Sdn Bhd and BMCCI, signed by MSSB CEO Mohamad Fauzi Yahaya and BMCCI’s Shabbir Ahmed Khan.

Business Cooperation – Between NCCIM and FBCCI, signed by NCCIM President Dato’ Seri N. Gobalakrishnan and FBCCI Administrator Md. Hafizur Rahman.
